  1. Can someone recommend a good cheap dvd player for playing dvd-r, dvd-rw, cd-r, cdrw... etc. This will be a third player for me thats why I don't want to spend a lot, I just want it to be able to play most media formats, mainly dvd-r.

    Thanks for any help.

edit: also if you know where I could buy it, thanks

  2. I've been using Pioneer 525 and I haven't had any problems so far. It reads dvdr, svcd, vcd, etc. with no skip or image blockiness at all. I've recommended this to all my friends and most of them had problems with Samsung , Sony, and JVC, and when they switched to Pioneer, they're happy.
Most of the time, the Pioneers go on sale at Cosco, if there's one near you. It doesn't have to be a 525, the other models are good too.

  4. circuitcity.com has the Apex AD1200 still onsale for $49 with free shipping. I've had mine since last summer, and it plays everything I've put into it, DVD, DVD-R, SVCD, VCD, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, and MP3. I was able to enter the hack code to make it region-free. If you have a Circuit City store close to you, you can walk in, buy it and try it for 30 days, and if you really hate it return it for a full refund! It's a win-win situation!
