Gang I am SOOOO stressed.... Having a problem when I go to create disc... It begins to render and makes it to the final clip ( I even tried deleteing some clips to see if that helped) and it hangs in rendering what seems like the last few seconds nad never progresses pass this point.. I have tried times (at 4+ hours) but I end up at the same point..... I need some help bad... I was wondering what I could be doing wrong???? Also I like the ease of Studio but is there another SW package I should try??? I spent all this time making the video and now I am stuck, plus I haven't got to use my burner yet.........Please help......

A few details are needed:
1) are you making VCD or DVD ?
2) do you tell it to create disc content but do not burn ? or burn disc
3) do you put a chapter point on a transition ? If yes, it's know to hang there.
I know how frustrated it is to wait for 4+ hours then the damn thing hang.
I used PS8 to make about one DVD disc a day (let it encode at night)
I switched neoDVD software that encode to DVD in real time (1X). Pretty cheap, 30$ for standard version and 50$ for the Plus version. Trouble is there is no demo version. Now I can make 4 DVD disc a day easily (and still have time to do lot of other things). I can do more but there is no need to.ktnwin - PATIENCE -
1.) I am making a DVD.
2.) I chose burn disc.
3.) I don't or haven't inserted any chapter points. I just have inserted transition fades and title windows.
I am fairly new to this, I just got a DVD burner and am trying to learn... -
ktnwin, I do agree with you that neodvd + is very quick and the quality is not so bad, but I would say that this software is more oriented toward doing quick projects where no editing is required or fancy menus.
I currently use Studio8 for projects which require more advanced looking menus and neodvd plus for projects in which menus and editing are not that important.
spmiz12, since Studio8 is somewhat buggy I would recommend first doing a simple project with no transitions and first burn to your hard drive and then you can use a software dvd player to test the DVD image.
if that works then add a couple of titles and some transitions and always burn to hard drive first.
a tip on "Titles" save them first and then use them on your project.
good luck. -

Also, what does it say when you think it hangs ? After it is done with rendering there is another step that takes some time too. Compiling....
What is your source of video ? Just wondering ? Home video ?Pinnacle Studio 8 and DV home video editing (ver.9 already home) -
dear mustang581,
I agree with you that neoDVD sucks at editing, I have repeated that in many other posts. It's great for beginner in quick VHS to DVD projects. and I am using PS8 to for editing important projects.
These two make a good combination.ktnwin - PATIENCE -
