  1. I tried out VCD Easy to make chapters and understand
the original size of file should not change much. However,
when using Nero (version 5.5.9.9) you generally take the
.cue file (must be in same directory as .bin file), create an
image with it using the Image Recorder, and then burn the final .nrg
file to a CD. The problem is that I start with a 590 MB .bin
which turns out to be 1120 MB as an .nrg!!!....I don't get it.
What could I be doing wrong?

The CUE/BIN file is already an image, by creating the NRG you are creating an image of an image, hence the size may double.

You don't need to create the NRG just burn the CUE file directly to the CD using the 'Burn Image' option in Nero.

  3. I tried this as well but it still doubles the size.
    Any other suggestions?

Well, I tried every combination I could think of (including an image of an image of an image (3)) to throw at Nero but every test came out the correct size, couldn't force a double. The only difference is I am using version 5.5.9.0 - perhaps it's a bug in the later version.

  5. you were right...I used a different computer with a
newer version of Nero (by the way, I was actually
using 5.5.5.1) and it worked fine!
    Thanks again
