  1. Hi
I have encoded an analogue file using tmpgenc plus.
The video plays fine except for the bouncing square around the screen.
I have been told by someone on here (thanxs) that my file is using a codec that requires purchasing.
Although not allergic to buying software I want the video file to be played by my friends without the bouncing square and without them having to buy a suitable codec.
I am playing the video file on wmp9 .
Is it possible to identfy the spoiling codec?
Do I have any options regards free mpeg2 codecs or free software that will play my video without the spoiler.
    Tx in advance

  4. you have to re-encode the anologue video using the paid for version of TMPGEnc....or CCE, mainconcept, etc... I think it has to do with licensing fees for the DVD Mpeg 2 codec, that companies must pay for to include it in their product....to my knowledge their is no way around this..........ethically, not technically speaking of course.

I have the paid for the version of Tmpgenc plus
One prsumes I used this for encoding lol

I have done quite a lot of work and would not have
used this method if I'd have known the video file encoded
    would not play on wmp9
    Such is life
