I haven't tried Matrix yet but have heard it is a tough one. There are many more hurdles that will crop up even after you have ripped it.

Try smartripper. Have heard that the movie freezed as Trinity does her jump near beginning though.

    GOODLUCK!!!!

I have successfully ripped the Matrix 1 for backup using dvdshrink 1.3, its free so you can rip from the disc and convert in one step. give it a try, got it from kazaa but i'm sure there is more links on this site. Happy ripping.

I had no trouble at all with The Matrix using DVD Decrypter > DVD2AVI > TMPGEnc > VCD Easy.

It's been a while but I think the only setting I used in DVD Decrypter that wasn't default was multi angle processing, retain angle 1.

    ...and maybe detect mastering errors.

  7. The Matrix was cake and pie.

Rip the main movie and whichever audio you want, demux to m2v and ac3 files with DVDDecrypter. Make sure you have file splitting off.

Frame serve the m2v file to CCE with DVD2AVI and avisynth. Re-Author with DVD Maestro. PERFECT!!!

If you are having ripping issues, 1st make sure you have DMA enabled, 2nd make sure you have enough free space, 3rd try using your burner. I have a Toshiba DVD-ROM in one system, it stinks on ice for ripping. My home system has a Sony DVD-ROM, works perfect 100% of the time, no ripping issues there.

I have not actually tried Matrix but everyone above is just mentioning the movie only version rip. I was actually referring to the entire disk which I have heard is hard.
