  1. I've looked through everything including the FAQ's and I guess the old man just doesn't understand.

I'm trying to make a backup of Abyss for the kids (tired of them playing ball with the discs) so:

    1) Used DVDdecrypter and created the video_ts folder and it plays from the computer fine, then,

    2) Used either Instant Copy or DVD2One or DVDShrink and none of them will write the disk.

Instant Copy bails the moment it starts to write - just disappears, I see some arrows moving down the screen, then nothing.

DVDShrink tells me there are no cells in the folder.

    DVD2One - can't remember that one.

    I'm assuming I'm missing something....

    Any help?

  2. I'll try helping.

First I think you should get a quality burning app like NERO, RECORDMAX or PRIMO(?). I personally use NERO. I think it's version 551010. Has woked flawlessly for me (knock on wood). That version and on should be okay to burn with. InstantCopy should have burned the disk as long as you follow the instructions carefully. I don't really like the compatibility with standalones concerning that app.

Note: Ever since I hit the 50+ mark I have always rebooted right before burning. I got a few coasters one time and after I rebooted everything was fine. I like my system resources to be fresh now. I'm not sure if anyone agrees with this but it works for me.

If your not concerned with quality or your viewing this on a regular tv then I would suggest using DVD2ONE version 111 or 113 (112 has problems with menus). Then burn with one of the apps mentioned above.

I'm staying away from DVDSHRINK until a couple more versions come out. It's free though. Can't beat that.

    Hope this kinda helps.
