    Hi there,

    I assume a lot of you guys, have an idea about this. Could you share your knowledge with me, please? Basicly I need to split my big avi file to two pieces. Platform: iMacG3-700, 60GB, 1GB, OS 10.2.4

    ffmpegX 0.0.6k was just released. There is a split option that ffmpegx has. Try that.

    another option:
    provided that you have quicktime pro, you can doctor(DivX Doctor 2) the avi, split in quicktime, and export to avi(or whatever).
    probably slower than ffmpegx, but much easier(on the GUI end of things).
