  1. Hi,

Can someone please explain me how to do:

How can i lay a black layer over a few centimer in the mpg

    Let me explain.
I downloaded a video cd from the foo fighters concert, and a ripper from the site who made it has displayed his name under in the screen.

Once i was able to edit the mpg with virtual dub and one or another filter so i could lay a black layer over the whole 2 cm ( on tv) under in the screen, which looked like the video was just a little smaller but the name was away. Now i dont get it anymore how to do it, it is a year ago, i have a new computer, can someone please explain to me>?

What do you prefer to do,
    1. Cover up the name with a 2cm black bar - leaving it at the bottom of the video,
    or
    2. Cut 2cm off the bottom, keep the aspect ratio, center the image and have a 1cm bar top & bottom,
    or
    3. Cut 2cm off the bottom and slightly stretch the video to fill the gap.

With VirtualDub you can do options 2 & 3 but if you use TMPGEnc to do your encoding, it can do any one of the 3 options while encoding.

Which one would you like more information on?

Select the 'Clip Frame' option (Screen No. 3 if using the Wizard, or via the 'Setting' button if using the standard method).

Increase the 'Bottom' setting until the part you want to cover up has gone.
By default, the video will stretch to fill the gap, if you want the black bar to appear instead then tick the 'Bottom Mask' Option.
