  1. I would like to delete a few frames of a home-made mpeg2
video file. I tried both TMPGEnc and bbMPEG but could
not cut the video correctly as these tools are not
    frame-based.

Could someone please point me to a tool that supports
frame cutting. Thank you very much for your help.

  4. TMPGEnc edits on the frame for me. With NTSC at 29.97 fps using the cursor keys in cut/merge edit screen I can move in 0.03 second steps which is one frame. Remember by not editing on the I frame the clip will be reencodeded and may give you some blocking.

  5. Thank you for reply but I'd tried that too. The calculation works sometimes but not always.
For instance in one mpeg2 file (encoded with a 2pass VBR settings) that I have, even if
I specified TMPGEnc to chop out the first 30 seconds, I always end up with a 29 second
clip (I verified this using DVD2AVI preview function). I even tried to increase range to 31 secs
(00:00:00 to 00:31:00) and still ended up with a 29-second clip. I don't know why TMPGEnc
does this but it just does. I think this could be why the developer of TMGEnc/MPEG tools did
not include a control to specify frame since s/he knew that it would not work all the time.

Any way, thanks again for your suggestion.
