Divx playback Question

I am trying to playback a divx file with the divx player and i get the following error:

The file contains unrecognized audio data:
Audio Data: Tag 85

Any ideas what this means, or how to correct it?

Is this a DivX AVI file or a file with the .divx extension? If it is an AVI see the forum topic just below entitled "What the heck is going on with this avi?" for some solutions to the problem.

If it is a .divx file, I think you're out of luck because, as far as my experience goes, vdub and the other tools you could use to extract the audio will not work with these. The .divx format seems useless to me except as a marketing gimmick for DivX Networks.
