  1. Hi everyone, I am at my wits end to get tmpgenc to work.
I have installed div codec 3,4 and 5(bundle). I looked up the FAQs for answers and have put the direct show as a higher priority of 1.

I have tmpgenc 2.53 on my computer. Also If I try to encode a movie I have ripped it will bring up the audio source file but when I click on video source it wont let me select the .d2v file it says its not supported.
So what do I still need on my computer to make this work.

    Thanks for any help.

  2. Go to the the options at the top of TMPG and make sure "register TMPG.vfp to VFAPI" is checked. Then go to options>environmental setting>vfapi plugin and make sure that the DVD2AVI file reader has a priority of at least one. When you choose the browse button in the video source selection, click the drop down button and choose DVD2AVI file project. If this doesn't work let us know.

  3. Hi thanks for that. I have clicked the register vfapi. when I go into
the browse section of video source there is no dvd2avi project to select.
there is a tmpgenc project. none of the ones in there if selected will work.

  4. When you click on video source a new window pops up. In the window that says "files of type" click on the drop down button. You should see the DVD2AVI project choice there. If not go to the bottom and choose "all files." Then select the dv2 file. Don't forget to set your priority for the DVD2AVI file reader in the environmental settings as I suggested in my last post. Let me know how you make out.

  5. Hi again
I went into environmental settings and this is what I have in there in order
    directshow multimedia file reader 1
    avi2(open dml)file reader 0
    bmp/ppm/tga/jpg file reader 0
    wave file reader 0
tmpgenc project file reader 2.53 0
    av vfw compatability reader -2

Should I have something else in there. I clicked on all files and tried to
select the video but it still comes up that it cannot be supported.

  6. Yes. You should have DVD2AVI project file reader. When you unzipped DVD2AVI do you have something called DVD2AVI.vfp in the same folder as DVD2AVI.exe?

  7. Yes it is in the same directory.
But still it doesnt show the reader.
Even trying to encode avi files to mpeg it wont show the video.
Not sure what else I could possibly need.

  8. Ok I thought I would try something.
I opened dvd2avi and did a ripped movie.
Once I had done that the dvd2avi project was there in tmpgenc in environmental settings. I put it to number 1 priority.
Now it looks like I can encode a movie its accepting the .d2v file.

The only problem I have now is if I encode a avi file it will let me select the movie to encode but it wont show the picture.

    Thanks for all your help.
