  1. I was wondering if anyone could help me: I have downloaded part of an AVI video clip and I used the DivFix program so I could watch what I have downloaded. That all went fine but the file needs a certain codec to make the sound play. I have tried the Kristal codecs and that worked temporarily but then it went all strange and I had to delete it. I have tried version 4 of the Divx codec and also an Angel Potion codec but none have worked. Has this got anything to do with the file being incomplete (even though I used the DivFix program)? Or does anyone know an alternate to the Kristal codec thingy? Thanks

  2. Try uninstalling all your codecs, then install just the krystal codecs and see if that helps. Not all the codecs are work together on the same system.

  3. Vejita-sama,

How do you uninstall all or one codec... I mean where do you go to uninstall them?

  4. Right, sorry.

    1) Open control panels
    2) Double click on 'sound and multimedia'
    3) Choose the devices tab
    4) Look under audio codecs

Just click on each one, choose properties, and then remove. M$ doesn't make it that easy And of course reboot, before trying to install the new codec/s. Luck
