Check your laptop manual, ther is usually a function key sequence that will switch between internal(laptop screen), external(VGA connector on back of laptop), or both internal and external. It's normally labeled LCD/CRT on the keyboard.

Also beware if you are trying to play Mpeg2 you need an mpeg 2 card.

  6. You can also use the Dual Monitor option in Windows when you hook up an external Monitor to a Laptop. I have mine set up at home like that and its great. I will never go back to just one Monitor.

"Also beware if you are trying to play Mpeg2 you need an mpeg 2 card." Huh??? Maybe I'm missing something with laptops, but with desktops all you need to do is install an MPEG-2 codec (software) to be able to play MPEG-2 files.

    Hurts my eyes sometimes...

I cant fit it on my desk, for odvious reasons. So i fit it where my T.V was.
I use my ATI to watch T.V and the screen has a DVD player in the back but i never use it because quality is CRAP !
