I've just started up the demo version of DTOX, whacked in a DVD I'd like to back up (Monster's, Inc. in this case) and wham ... it's hit me with an Encrypted Data Detected message, followed by DVD2One cannot decrypt protected data. I understand their obligation not to allow decrypting in certain countries (ie. Australia), but, first of all, how did DTOX know I'm in Australia and secondly, out of interest's sake, has someone come up with an override to this limitation?

  2. Man some people never read anything! It never said it decrypts DVD's. In fact if you read the documentation and/or webpage at all it explicitly says it doesnt and you need to do this with another program!!! It only makes decrypted or non encrypted dvd's fit onto dvd-r disks..

To decrypt you most use dvd backup or osex or whatever program that decrypts DVD's you like

The only neat piece of Mac software that seems to magically decrypt DVDs without the MPAA getting their panties in a bunch (so far) is 42.

The only reason MPAA has jumped on 42 is becaue they either don't know about it or they don't care because it isn't wide spread yet and well known like DVDXCopy by 321 Studios.
