  1. Hello, guys!
I've just made a SVCD using CCE Trial. When I watch that disc in my DVD player, motion scenes is strange. It seems I mixed up field order in conversion. But I don't know how can I change it in CCE. In fact, there is a option to change field order of output file, but I didn't find a way to select field order of input file.
Does anybody know how I can do that?
    Thanks in advance.

The field order of the source is irrelevant. Just make sure you set the output the same as the source and it should look fine. I've posted on a technique to use TMPGenc to test field order many times on this forum, you can find it through a forum search.

If you need to actually change the field order of an mpeg you can use pulldown.exe. Get the gui and its very easy.

  3. Thanks, Adam. I'm going to see that techinique.
Only to bring more information, when I converted Star Wars II DVD to SVCD with TMPGEnc, I had the same problem. When I changed field order of source to upper first, it worked fine.
    Thanks a lot.

Just a note. If you are encoding to NTSC than you are actually making things much harder, and worse, on yourself. NTSC DVDs are almost always stored progressively and telecined to 29.97fps by the dvd player as they play. This is much more efficient and much higher quality. You should be doing the same thing with your SVCD, VCD and DVD encodes. When you keep your footage progressive, you don't have to worry about the field order because there are no fields.
