  1. I'm searching for a program that is capable of normalizing MP2-files without reencoding.

    Any ideas?

  2. Why don't you re-encode back to WAV? You are not losing any quality. Then normalize the WAV file. At this point you can encode the WAV file back to MP2.

  3. I already thought about that.
I'm not loosing quality when decoding to WAV, but I will loose when I reencode to MP", don't I?
If not, please tell me how to reencode to MP2 the most simple way, please.

  4. You will not lose quality when you encode your WAV back to MP2. The only way how you lose quality is if you use a lower sample rate and/or bit rate when you decode from MP2 to WAV. Ensure the sample and bit rate is the same for the MP2 and WAV files and you will be ok.

Try CDEX - it's actually a cd ripper but it has a function to convert WAV to mp3 and back plus normalization etc. It's Free as well.
