I am trying to make a VCD of concert mpegs for the first time. I downloaded the Nero demo to burn them to disk. I understand everything fine, but everytime I attempt the burn it gets to 99-100% done and then the burn fails. Around 96% the used read buffer begins to drop until it eventually hits 0%. Then I get an error message that states "logical unit not ready, operation in progess", then right after that I get a message that says "burn process failed". I have attempted the burn at every speed and it always fails. I am a computer idiot, so am I doing something wrong? Is it the files (other people have had no problems burning them)? Any idea what those error messages mean? Or is there another program I should use? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I personally would never use a demo
There are also other burning software out there.
I use NTI cdMaker deluxe verry good.
Good luck! -
I have never heard of that error before. I agree with mj try using the full version of nero or another burning program. Do the files operate correctly on your pc ?.

MJ2505,
A better question is, do the CDs work? I have gotten the burn failed message a few times, done it a second time, got a bad burn, said the hell with it, let me try it, and the disk worked, VCD, SVCD, music, data. Sometimes the program doesn't know what it's talking about. -
Thanks for the help. The mpeg files work great on the computer. gmatov, I took your advice and tried the vcd's that failed on my dvd player. They didn't work. I then tried them on the computer by playing them in PowerDVD and they worked, they just didn't have any color. So I thought maybe my dvd player didn't support VCD. I have a Toshiba sd200-8u. I checked the compatability list on this site, my DVD player isn't listed, but it looks like all Toshibas listed support VCD. So, now I don't know what the problem is. I should probably just try it with a new program. If anyone knows if the sd200-8u supports VCD or not, that information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the help.

mj2505,
I think your player is listed as a 2008. 4 reports say that it won't play anything, except 1 said he got it to play CD-RW.
Are you using a VCD/SVCD program to convert the mpegs to VCD/SVCD format?
I don't know if you can just burn what you have. Hell, I don't even know what you have.
