  1. Anything good for playing VCDs on I have a the Sony NS300 and I don't really like it (bought it from a pawn shop) I like the Apex much better but it was messing up on me. Anything out there of a decent price that will play vcds thanks!

  5. circuitcity.com has the Apex AD1200 still onsale for $49 with free shipping. I've had mine since last summer, and it plays everything I've put into it, DVD, DVD-R, SVCD, VCD, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, and MP3. I was able to enter the hack code to make it region-free. If you have a Circuit City store close to you, you can walk in, buy it and try it for 30 days, and if you really hate it return it for a full refund! It's a win-win situation!

  6. It should be noted that (unless they have reveresed their decision) that new Apex machines no longer support VCD due to licensing issues.

Secondly, if you want good S/VCD support (i.e., a machine that supports most the commonly used feature set in the S/VCD PBC properly), you should probably steer away from an Apex.

I have a older Apex 1100W 1meg version that plays everything very well i got it awhile ago for like 53$ and i also picked up a mintek 1600 at best buy for 49.99$ about 3 months ago and it is a pearl...very nice looking, black (couldnt stand that silver box of crap no longer on top of my all black setup), very quite, plays everything i throw at it and its also cheap! i would suggest it.
