I dont think anyone has gotten this error before.
can you provide some detail as to what you were doing with forty-two
    dvd -> (___________________)??

what dvd was it?! did the prescanning complete properly? Did you let the dvd mount and load your dvd player fully?! (i know you have to do the latter otherwise you will get all sort of strange errors)

if no one here can help at all, I suggest sending an email to the team using the email they have supplied in the read me for the program.

Send some more info and lets see what we can do!

  4. Ok, right now it I tried it with the family guy disc 1. The DVD mounts and pre scanns and everything, whenever i click on the more button i get that error. It doesnt matter what DVD it is, and this is the only error i get.

I have sent 2 e-mails to Chris about this problem, as I was instructed to do so by Kai, with no response yet. When I had asked Kai, he had told me that I was not the only one getting this error, that is why i have turned to you buys .

I hope some of this can help out. If you need more info let me know.

Thats strange, just for kicks i put in Family Guy disk 1 on my end. Works like a charm
I have two suggestions perhaps that might help.

    1. Delete all forty-two related files and redownload the full version 1.5 and then the updater 1.5.2b. Reinstall everything!
    2. Try it now. If you have already done this.... suggest using another program.

What is it you are trying to make? VCD, SVCD, DIVX? DVD??

ripping your dvd to .vob with OSeX will give you a file that contains all the necessary information.
This can then be run through ffmpegx to make a whole host of things.
Have you thought about this as an alternative?

just spouting out ideas since it would seem that though some have the problem, not many here seem to know what to do.

  6. Will DVDBackup work also, like to rip the streams from the DVD, then convert them to AVI?

I too just tried my Family Giu disk 1 with the newest version of Forty-Two and it worked perfectly. The more button acted just as it should and everything. So it makes me wonder what is different about your machine and mine.

  9. GRRR!!! that makes it worse now that i know someone else is using it and it works fine On a lighter note.. i can still rip the episodes individually since each one is a sep title on the disc.. but i still wonder why i dont anyhting listed down in the bottom when i click more...
