I saw this a while back and added to my favourites for one to watch
http://www.dvdsqueeze.com/
I've just been back and noticed this time it's exactly the same as DVDShrink!!!!!!!!!!!!
I remember seeing this before DVDShrink was released, so who's is the program?
this is the thread I saw that told me about DVDSqueeze
http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=17116
this is the pop-up link
http://www.dvdcopydecrypter.com/
price supposedly retailing at $139.95 but Special low, LOW online pricing today! is quoted
I've seen DVDSqueeze is a rip-off but is this the same?

shocking!
this DVDSqueeze is just a collection of all the free softwares such as DVDecrypter, SmartRipper, DVDShrink and some have been renamed
but they are charging $89.95 for these programs and a few guides
definitely a rip-off as mentioned before, but how can they do it?
have they asked the authors of all the programs?

If you look at it, the DVDCOPYDECRYPTOR didn't change a thing...except for the title of the app.
I think they felt that it was a safe enough legal gamble to shamelessly RIP the app off!
Either way, it still stinks of rotten eggs.

it seems these guys have a habit of cloning programs and renaming them
this is a collection of freeware programs (some modded) with a fancy Flash GUI
and also in the DVDSqueeze link, right under the Download now, it states UPDATE, NOW WITH DVD-DVD-R SUPPORT
this is cos they now include DVDShrink with the package of DVDDecrypter, Smartipper, FlaskMPEG etc
so I guess we 'GUYS CAN READ' more than others seem to READ

seems like you two guys are the ones who would post something like, 'has anyone tried this?'

it also looks like those DVD Shrink stealers know that we are upset...they aren't responding to any emails
I dont think they will be in business too long
but it looks like they are trying to push their product by having other people advertise for them
getting a percentage of the sales is a bastardized way to push stolen products packaged under another name
They do have a good marketing scheme though...because some people might want to get a percentage of their revenue and so they will push the product on other unwilling customers.
Damn theives and the way theives think

Back in the computer BBS days I once wrote a program door for Searchlight BBS that I was selling called Welcome that greeted the person coming on the system. About 6 months later someone copied the idea and then started selling a Welcome v2.0. They even copied the name from me and changed the version number.

But I don't think DVDShrink is licenced under GNU, so that doesn't really help him.
I think the basic argument behind these "steal_other_people's work" packages is that they are not selling the software per se, they are selling the guides and the work that went into collecting and packaging the software.
Lots of the othe software contained in that package have more restrictive copyrights, and I'm sure some of them are licenced under GNU. Any of these author's could collect damages as well. Best thing to do is spread the word that these packages are a rip off, and notify the authors of the software.
-
the scam been out quite a while and a few have bpught it unaware of it's contents and it's just recently added DVDShrink to the package (07/04/03 is one mention of a purchase of the $90 package
and DVDShrink was released on the 06/04.03)
but the thing about DVDShrink is that not only have they not included the copyright notice & disclaimer, they have changed the name of the app judging by the pics
OK, there's no harm if they have packaged all the free stuff together and made some cool Flash menu's to operate all the progs but it's the fact they've modded DVDShrink, just the same as they did with EasyDIVX in the above link
I've seen a few forums posting warnings about this software now, some going back to last year but the word hasn't been spread enough and some people have actually bought it and probably still are. One guy has posted HERE that he bought the $90 package and discovered the con, emailed them for a refund and this post was the day after the release of DVDShrink, so they musta created that package on the day of release
so that's how I knew I had seen that site and those pics before but never realised it was DVDShrink rebadged cos I wasn't aware of DVDShrink at the time

Actually this release is no different than the low bugdet low rent application called DVD COPY PLUS from 123 studios
WHY EVERYTHING on THE DISC MY FRIEND BOUGHT is FREEWARE
and they paid $69.00 to the redistributing thiefs for a lttle flash movie program that
fails to pride a usablelink between the freeware tool that you are reduced to using seperately due to 321's bad interface (doesn't install on any thing but WIN 98se properly!)
below: FILES ON 321's stolen software release
actually..Maybe I got the TMPG that always does MPEG-2 without time outt..nah..I'll test it and repost If The purchase price was providing that
-
DVD X COPY makers 123 studios are also
doing exactly the samething and all you people seem to like their
DVD XCOPY application..
Well the same company is ripping others off with DVD COPY PLUS
I tested the TMPG that my pal spent $69.00 to get from 321,, well
ITS THE TIMED OUT 30 DAY VERSION
this is why I ended up with the disc..
My Friend was so upset that the program wouldn't loads on Win2k that he gave me the disc.....
-
have DVDCOPYPLUS actually renamed or modified the apps though?
It's just another fancy guide with the free apps enclosed, so are they actually doing anything illegal?
what's puzzling me is that DVDCopyDecrypter is DVDShrink renamed
Nero is a 30 day trial and they rate DVDCopyDecrypter as $99

Did the individual applictions load?
The app loaded, but their litle interface wouldn't launch any of the helper apps (freware pieces)..
And I've installed the following with no prob whatsoever on 2k:
Instant Copy
DVD Toolbox
Dvd Shrink runs fine
TMPG itself
Do you still use copy plus?
I use the individual app themselves and did in fact learn from the expensive tutorial
-
I never properly used DVDCopyPlus and never will
I just learnt all I know by reading other guides, and some of them are quite confusing so that's why I created the ones in my sig to try to make it easy for people of all standards
the best way is still the manual way for me, cos there is no automated DVD stripping tool that maintain DVD structure 100% of the time
Ifoedit looks so scary but in fact is a marvellous tool when you get to know it
I use a combination of Ifoedit, IfoUpdate, DVD95Copy, InstantCopy and DVDToolbox and get perfect backups everytime
now if only I could incorporate it all into a fancy Flash menu, I'd make a fortune

WTF are blabbing on about
UMMM
CAN YOU GUYS READ???
it says "COPY AND DVD TO CD"
DVD Shrink makes the DVD fit on DVD-R not CD-R!
so WTF does that mean??!??!??!?!??!?, to me it means you are implying that we could not read the fact it does DVD to CD, where in fact you missed the UPDATE now supports DVD to DVD-R bit
yet you still amaze by not admitting you obviously missed it and put your other foot in your mouth now cos even now you still come back with childish pathetic comments
DVDSqueeze is a package of the programs which includes DVDCopyDecrypter as the suppposed DVD to DVD-R support
so next keep your stupid CAPS LOCK OFF numbskull, when you make stupid sacrcastic meaningless comments cos it just shows how childish you are
