  2. Hi there - it's quite easy to add chapters in IFOedit, but there's no guide. Maybe Baldrick might think about updating his IFOedit guide with the details...

All you need to do is work out the frame numbers where you want your chapters to start. You could work this out by running your finished MPEG2 file through a file player and note down the times you want your chapter breaks at. Then convert the times to seconds and multiply by the frame rate (e.g. 25 for PAL).

If that is too much effort, then you could just decide to have chapters say every 10 minutes, then the break points would be 15000, 30000, 45000, etc. (for PAL)

Next, you need to open up Notepad and enter your chapter breaks in order, hitting return after each number, and remembering to hit return after the last number (doesn't work otherwise!). Then save the text file as "CellTimes.txt".

When you author with IFOedit, press the "." button at the Scene Changes / Chapters section and select your CellTimes.txt file. The numbers will automatically fill up the box alongside.

I'm not sure how well error-trapped the chapter creation is, but it has worked for me when I accidentally added some chapter breaks that went beyond the length of my movie. If you juggle them around or add text and negative numbers you might be asking for trouble...

Aside from adding your CellTimes.txt info, do everything else as per Baldrick's guide and you'll be fine...
