hi. most of you know that i am fairly new to film and the like. anyhow, as i have been told, to film a great movie... you need a somewhat good camera... so, i have been looking around at some 16mm cameras on ebay. are any of you familiar with the k-3? also, how do you edit the capped 16mm film? thanks...

First you develop the film after you remove it from the camera.
Then you either make a print.(PROJECTABLE) or stay with the NEGATIVE..
The negative is transferrable to your computer using a CAPTURE DEVICE
known generically as a FILM to TAPE transfer device
This can be accomplished with a TRADITIONAL FILM CHAIN..inw hich a modded up projecter shows the film to a OPTCAL CHAIN which often includes a PRISM to focus the progjected image on the LENS of a camera.. You can then record to tape or harddrive this VIDEO FEED

A film chain runs thousands of dollars

Otherwise a NEGATIVE TRANSFER DEVICE can be used. Invented in the 70's the things are the reason the TV shows from our youth (or mine at least) look so much better than when they initially aired--retransfer from the NEGATIVE on these scanners like the RANK or SPIRIT

These devices scan the film directly with a photoptical element
and cost a million to set up in a room with recorders or harrdives

You could cut each frame off of the film you expose and pin register it on a regular scanner and input your 16mm frames one at a time with compareable quality to these super machines
