I used to be able to burn VCDs and SVCDs (using CD-RW media) with VCD Easy (I don't recall which version, but it was almost a year ago) using my Win98FE system. I no longer have this system and now use WinXP on an AMD2100e ECS K7S5A.

With the CD-RW on the XP system, I can reliably burn drag-drop files in Windows Explorer. The CD-RW firmware is up to date and the driver has been updated for XP.

With VCD Easy 1.1.5 (I have also tried earlier versions), when I try to blank a CD-RWs, I see the following log information:
[CDRDAO blank]
WARNING: During writing you should avoid to open the Windows Explorer and similar tools
WARNING: CDRDAO does not lock the recording device so that all access action from the Explorer will lead to a failure of the recording process.
Cdrdao version 1.1.7
ASPI: C:\Program Files\ahead\Nero\WnAspi32.dll

Using driver: Generic SCSI-3/MMC (raw writing) - Version 2.0 (options 0x0000)
cmd finished after 0.000s timeout 20s
ERROR: Cannot set write parameters mode page.

Disc blanked

As you will note, an ERROR is showing (Cannot set write parameters mode page). However, the disk seems to have been blanked.

If I try to write some NTSC files (MPEG stills) with VCD Easy, I see the following log information and burning terminates:
[CDRDAO Write]

WARNING: CDRDAO does not lock the recording device so that all access action from the Explorer will lead to a failure of the recording process.

The Force Driver is correctly, for the HP7200e, being set at "generic-mmc-raw".

I initially had trouble getting the CD-RW to be recognized. I first installed ASPI 4.6 using ForceASPI and the CD-RW wasn't found. I then used the Nero ASPI and I could then see the drive.

I have tried to use Nero to burn, but it has problems with the write parameters as well.

Any clues as to solutions for these problems?

Thank you
