Just thought that I should let everyone know how good MM2 is. It only works in XP but the upgrade from MM1 to 2 is free. Great quality (firewire) capture and excellent automovie feature. I have a 10 month old son who has now appeared in about 30 videos with fav music backgrounds. Excellent stuff and FREE

I have to agree. The built-in "burn to highmat cd" option is very nice, will be much nicer if Panasonic gets the set-top players to the stores.

  3. Many providers are giving bundled DV capture and basic authoring tools, and Movie Maker 2 is definately a nice one. They may very well drive the low end ($50 and under) editing/authoring tools out of business. But the $100+ tools still are miles above the free bundled products.

  4. I thins this is intresting reading. I have newly order Canopus ADVC-100. I like most out of it when I capture from my Handycam. I have allready tryed MM2, and like it. But question is, is this the rigth thing to choose? I realy like to get best quality from my holidays movie. Why should MM2 be better/not better than else software. What is the best? I also have in mind that I capture from HandyCam tha are analogue.

    Thanks in Advance.
    Best regards

Chelsea, send your Canopus back and get a decent DV camera that has an Analogue in jack. Your Analogue camera can then be used to transfer to DV and then from DV camera to your computer with a firewire card. Best results. Then use free MM2 and Tmpgenc to convert to DVD format. Burn and away you go.

Plus you will then have a DV camera for future filming

  6. Thanks Brpod for your good point. The problem is that a good DV campera cost a very bit more. Plus that I have many VHS cassete I will convert. My videoplayer are brooken, and I will not buy a new. (I borrow one until i convert them). But Yes I have read an ariticle here in DVDRHelp that says the same as You do. The result will be very good. To bad that I don't have this mone right now. Thanks anyway
    Best regards
