okay, so i recorded "Lucky" on TV, but i recorded two 1/2 hour long episodes on back to back, so i ended up with a 3.5 gigabyte one hour .mpeg file. then i ran it through mpgmediator to convert it into a readable (in v-dub's eyes) smaller .avi file, so then i open the 625 megabyte .avi file in virtual dub in order to splice the commercials out and separate the two episodes.

for the first episode, i simply went to the end of the first episode, started a hash, skipped to the very end of hte file, and closed the hash and removed the video. but then i noticed that the video cuts out probably 3/4ths through the file.

when i went to do the second, i started a hash at the beginning of the file, and moved to the end of hte first ep and closed the hash and removed it. i then started going through the file removing ocmmericals, when i noticed that virtual dub did not read the file beyond a point. this part of the video exists because i checked it in WMP. it is a 52 minute .avi file, but virtual dub only goes about 40 minutes into it. even after removing hte first 28 minutes, there were only the remaining 12 minutes of the secand half of the file.

has anyone experienced this problem before? is there some sort of setting that will allow it to import the entire video file? is this a bug?

i'm going to try to delete the first portion of hte video, save as .avi, and then re open the smaller .avi into vdub to see if that remedies the problem.

    bump

seriously does anyone know what's wrong with this? i tried to save as a diff avi in v-dub, but uncompressed it was 7 gigs which is too large for my fat32 partition.

what the hell does anyone know?
