Trying to convert an AVI to MPG to burn to VCD.
Using TMPGEnc, but it won't open the file.
I know this is probably a codec probelm, but which codec do I need?
Here is what AVIcodec says about the file
Video : 94 Mb, 311 Kbps, 12.500 fps, res. 352*288 (4:3), MP43 = MS MPEG4 V3, Supported
Audio : 17.2 Mb, 56 Kbps, 24000 Hz, 2 chan., 0x55 = MPEG Layer-3, Supported
Strange thing is, I can play it fine with Windows Media Player 2, so shouldn't I have the codecs alread?
Any suggestions on what to try? I don't want to just go installing a bunch of codecs if I don't need them.
Thanks.

Click TMPGEnc's 'VFAPI Plug-in' TAB under 'Environmental Settings' and try increasing the priority of the 'DirectShow Multimedia File Reader'

Thanks.
That seems to have done the trick.
I'll know for sure in the morning after the file is done.Trevor
