  1. Hello everyone!

Please help me with this problem. I have tried searching through the web and forums, but was unable to find an answer. I have bought a microstar pc with a ricoh dvd+r/rw a few months ago. I am perfectly capable of burning dvd videos on dvd +rw with nero, but dvd+r won't work. the dvd+rw will work on both standalone and my pc, the exact same content burnt on dvd+r will not work in either standlone or the pc. The +rw and +r blank disks were both from TDK.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

  2. I had exactly the same problem with an Hp200e and MinTek 1600. DVD+RW worked fine, but DVD+R didn't. The solution was to burn with RecordNowMax instead of Nero. No idea why RecordNowMax worked with the same exact files that Nero failed with, but that was defintely the solution.

Be sure to try the newest version of Nero (www.ahead.de). But I don't use Nero anymore. I use DVDit! and I hear RecordNow Max is fine too.
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.

Don't use Nero with DVD+Rs. It just won't work properly with my SONY recorder. (I also had problems with DVD-Rs as well). Since I switched to RecordNow DX I've had no problems at all.

Several versions (almost all) of Nero since 5.5.9.17 have either this or that problems with DVDs, especially with +Rs. I think that the champion of the problems is the SONY recorder but it seems that the problems are mainly in how Nero handles +R disks.
The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.

  5. I know this doesn't really answer the heart of the question, but my TDK burner runs perfectly with Nero on both DVD+R's and +RW's.(The TDK VeloCD CD burners also love Nero) I have tried my discs in 5 standalone players ranging from a $100 Sanyo to a $1000+ Denon so far and they all run perfectly. It could be that the +R's are burning in UDF 1.05 instead of UDF 1.02, but since I have had no trouble with Nero at all, I am unsure as to the cause of your problem.

  7. Somewere in here I found an article that said Nero burned a udf 1.05 iso by default when a udf 1.02 was more compatable.Which could be burned by changing how you set up the burn.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have encountered that topic as well on my mad search for solution, but I do not believe that is the problem. By changing default, it should make a disc compatible with more dvdplayers than it already is. My problem is more that nero refuses to burn a dvd+r that is compatible with any player. even my pc refuses to play it. *starts to think that nero really hates me*

I am trying out RecordnowMax. It is however a little confusing how to burn the disc. The help says that you burn it by dropping both the video and audio folders like burning a data. However, they do not explain which one of the two options you should choose when you burn it.

  9. Howdy all! I recently got the Verbatim Producer +RW/+R drive which came with Nero Express/NeroVision Express and Sonic MyDVD. I just burned my first DVD+R disc today using NeroVision Express and all I got was video, but no audio. I checked the disc out in a stand alone player (Panasonic) and got video/no audio. Checked the disc out on the Verbatim drive, same thing. Went back to the NeroVision Express program and did a preview of the project I just did and there was video and sound. Arrggh! Help! Have I just totally missed something? Also, I'm new to the whole "create a DVD" club, so can someone explain to me why it takes so long to create a DVD? The DVD I did was of 4 .avi files (Anime) and it took roughly 6 1/2 hours (6hrs to convert the .avi files and 30min or less to burn the disc). If NeroVision Express is not the best software to use, what program would be considered better? Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated!
