  1. I am using Goldwave to extract the audio from an avi file to use in encoding an SVCD.
What format audio should the wav file be saved as for SVCD?
    What format if creating DVDs?

Goldwave is a good choice by the way...I use it a lot!

When you've loaded the avi into Goldwave you just need to click on "file" then "save as"....it should be set to save as an uncompressed WAV by default...which is what you want....you can then use this WAV as the audio source in TMPGenc or whatever encoder you use.

  3. I save it as type .wav, but there is a box below this that specifies attributes such as PCM, MPEG layer 3, Ogg Vorbis, etc. What do you select under the attributes box?

I don't think I have that on my version of Goldwave!

However, you mentioned PCM....that is uncompressed WAV..so I'd select that.
