  1. Hi guyz.

I looked but couldn't find this error on another forum so forgive me if it is in the wrong place. Now i get the abovementioned error everytime i try to convert a dvd to avi using DVDX2.0.

I'm fairly new to all of this so i'm thinking it might be some codec problem. I d/l "Ultimate XP DivX Codec - Nimo 4.3.3" to cover all my codec needs but with still no luck.

Any chance you can help me with this problem. It will be much appreciated.

    Thanx in advance!!!!!!!

  2. i wouldn't use dvdx.
dont use any codec pack.codec packs are just filters for veiwing avi's.they just cause problems any way.
you need to install the codec it self to encode.
install the divx pro or xvid codec(dont use divx 5.03)

i would say start off useing divx 5.02 with gordian knot .27 http://www.doom9.org/gknot-main3.htm

i use divx 5.04 with GK .28 beta which supports divx 5.04 and xvid, but i been ripping a while and is a little more advance
