Okay... Here's what's happening...
I've got a BIN and a CUE file of a movie... If I crack open the BIN file with my stupid PC it showes the contents of what looks like a VCD.
But my PC doesn't have a CD burner, so I'm going to have to burn it with my Mac.
I've tried two different approches... The first one dropping the BIN file into toast, telling it the proper sector size... But Toast crashes every time... Joy... :P
The second was downloading a program called MissingMediaBurner.
When I get the part of selecting my device, my DVD-RW isn't there, it's a PIONEER. It won't for the life of me burn the BIN/CUE.
So I decide to covert the BIN/CUE to an ISO file and try and burn that. So I sele select a genaric one and try to burn it, it burns, but the result is a non fuctional VCD both in the Mac, the PC, and my standalone playere which normally never has any problems either.
So... I reallly need some help with this one folks, and you guys are always really healpful.
Let me know,
Thanks,
Flip

pick the generic mmc driver for your dvd-rw, then it will burn.
works great on my pioneer 105 -
There is also a great program called Firestarter FX(versiontracker.com)
it works well for .bin files as long as you have the .cue
best of luck -
Okay.... For GENERIC-MMC AND FOR GENERIC-MMC-RAW I get the following error message from MMB.
--------------------------------
Turning BURN-Proof on
Executing power calibration...
Power calibration successful.
ERROR: Drive does not accept any cue sheet variant - please report.
ERROR: Writing failed.
--------------------------------
Now Firestarter FX was really easy to use, looks great, however when I drop the files in, and click BURN CD, it does the following.
PROCESSING.... (with the blue candycaine style bar)
Writing Failed (After about 10 seconds of processing)
Why does this seem to be so difficult for me? -
do a search for gumby using google, or i think the website is paradox.com. click on the tab that says svcd fixer. drop your bin file on it and hit process.
next start up toast and drop your bin file on it when you have it set for vcd. then burn it like that. -
i had this problem when the bin was too large. i used ffmpegx to split it into two sets of bin/cues and it worked fine.

Thats why you got errors with the other burners
805 megs is MAX for .bin file. Anything over that and you will get errors on any program.
Firestarter and Missing Media Burner are the ones i usually go with, only because the toast burned disks dont play in all players (mine is one of them)
Glad you got it working. -
Whenever I have bin/cues for a movie, I just use Vcdtools X. it works great. It extracts the mpeg from the bin file and creates a xml file. this is then used to make 2 .img files and those are burned as a multitrack XA cd in Toast. theres a link to this on www.squeeds.com

redcdn...
that will work fine, but it strikes me as easier and less time consuming to simply use the cue/bin files with MissingMediaBurner and burn it directly to SVCD... MMB works very well...
