I go to VirtualDub, and File> Capture AVI ..The screen freezes for a few seconds, then an error comes up - Error: Cannot find a driver to draw this non-RGB image format. Preview and histograms functions will be unavailable. Even using a different codec brings up the same message.
After pressing OK, the screen freezes again, and finally a dark box comes up with what looks like the VirtualDub capture screen. Isn't there supposed to be a blue screen there and when it plays the movie will show up? I tried using a non-S-Video setting, and still nothing comes up.
What's going on? Am I supposed to install drivers for the Canopus ADVC-100? Am I hooking up something the wrong way? Please help!

If you read the VirtualDUB docs, you'll see ..
VirtualDub needs a Video for Windows capture driver to capture. Most Firewire (DV) devices do not provide a VFW driver, and thus cannot be used by VirtualDub at all.
Nothing to do with the ADVC-100 at all
