  1. hello to all i have sony trv355 camcorder usb enabled ,the default software wich is given is piexla is there any best capturing software for sony (usb) like win dvd recorder wich can encode to mpeg as we record pls do help

  2. You really need a firewire port if you are going to capture any video from your Sony. USB is too slow. You'll get something but it will be pixilated.

    If money is no object, the best capture programs come with the best video editing programs - Sonic Video Vegas and Adobe Premier. These capture program allow video pass-thru where you can use your camcorder to capture from other sources as well (like a VCR). If you are just capturing the tape you have shot on the camera most any capture program will do.

    Capturing in mpeg is faster but will give lesser quality. Best to capture in AVI and then do a good encoding to mpeg.

  3. thanks david .david i have trv355 sony it has a i.LINKŪ* DV Interface (IEEE 1394) and i have a fire wire card in my computer so i have to buy a cable wich consist of dv on one end and firwirecable onanother end pls do help and one more thing is that i can capture through this port( i.LINKŪ* DV Interface (IEEE 1394)) to any other software and pls name some pls do help thanking u hello

    Sony's iLink is infact a normal firewire port, so yes, you can capture using this port. As for software, i either use Pinnacle Studio 8 or Ulead VideoStudio7 to capture from my camera, and then go from there!!
