I am under a deadline for a work project and need to extract an audio file from a DVD to insert into a new dvd. I reviewed quickly some of the "How-tos" and there seems to be some app's that could help me do this (OSEx).
Could someone give me a simple walk-through to escape my boss's wrath.
I'm new to this.
Thanks in advance.

Hello
well it depends on what you want to do really.
Extracting the audio from a dvd, yep OSeX can do that.
Simply fire up the application, Go to the CONTROL menu
and select no chapters, no video, no audio and no subpicture.
this essentially makes it so you are not copying any of the dvd.
Now to copy only the audio, in the application window itself, click on the AUD tab and choose your audio file. Typically the 1st one is the one you want, but it may or may not be.
After that is done, click FMT then choose ELEM STREAM and then click begin. this will export a .ac3 file format which will be the audio file of your choice.
Depending on what you are doing, this .ac3 may need to be converted.
this is a short how to extract just the audio file using OSeX
you will have to convert it to mp3 or aiff, or wav inorder to actually hear it on yoru comptuer though
why not give more explanation on what you want to do so we can help you out. -
Thanks for getting back. I have just downloaded OSEx and going to try what you said. I will need some sort of converter. I have a new video clip
that I need to join with this narrative audio I'm extracting. I am probably going to do this quickly in iMovie and export it in Quicktime to plug into a Powerpoint presentation. So what is a good audio converter that can get me there. Thanks again. -

or you can use Missing MPEG tools to get to a .mp2 (standard for video cd's and .mpegs)
