  1. I have an Mpeg of a movie which is around 3 hrs long. It is just over 3 gig in size. When I use Ulead DVD movie factory (which is excellent) it takes it well over the 4.4 gig limit. Is there any way of shrinking this mpeg so it will fit on one dvd? I have tried TMPGEnc but it just bombs out.

    Regards

  2. Lasher,
What version of Ulead are you using, and how does TMPG bomb out? Does it crash, do you get an error message, or does it just freeze up? What kind of mpeg file, mpeg1 or mpeg2? 3 gigs for a 3 hour movie is kind of small.

  3. I am using Ulead Movie Factory2. The movie is Mpeg-1. TMPGEnc just says not supported and I have to abort. The movie joined is 3 gig and it is around 3 hrs long widescreen. I think it may already be converted to PAL for vcd.

    Hope this helps.

  4. If you try to convert the file to a smaller one you will lose quality. The file is already quite small for a 3 hour movie. If you choose to do so you may have to give the directshow multimedia file reader in TPMG a higher priority. It is listed in the environmental settings. Ulead should have no problem with a 3gig file, but if I'm not mistaken your version (v2.0) transcodes videos and swells the file size. Do a search on this website to find other posts of people having the same problem. I've seen it pop up here on numerous occasions. I don't know how it has been resolved however since I use Ulead version 1 and never paid much attention.
