The badframes.log produced by VDub-MP3 is time-consuming to scan through when looking for the start & end positions of each group of bad frames.

So I wrote a small program to make this easier.
    Hope you find it useful.

    it is here: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/mdipol/bfg/

OK. I've put the file MSFLXGRD.OCX on my webpage.

    Download it: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/mdipol/bfg/MSFLXGRD.OCX

Copy it into folder: c:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 (or c:\WINNT\SYSTEM32)

    Sorry about that.
Let me know if it falls over again.

Thanks Marco, Tried again and its working but another message this time says that there is no c:\badframes.log does not exist ???.

What Virtual Dub are you using ??.

I'm using 1.5.1 and no bad frames file is generated after the scan.

Am I missing something here ???.

    Thanks for your quick replies...

You need to use a specially modified version of VirtualDub.
It is called 'VirtualDub MP3 Freeze'.

You can download it from the Tools section here.

When you use it to check for bad frames, open your .avi file, select 'Video' and then select 'Check Video for Freezes...'.

When it has finished it will have created file c:\badframes.log and you can run the badframes.exe program.
