  1. I am trying to convert several movies from .avi to mpeg2. I have tried several programs and one porblem I keep seeing is that the picture seems like it is "squeezed" after its converted. By that I mean everything looks slightly "narrower" or not quite wide enough. Any ideas what settings I need to adjust?

Also, with TMPGEnc I am losing the sound upon conversion. I don't know whats going on but it seems to only happen with this particular program. I tried extracting the audio in videodub and then putting it back into an avi file and using that but it didn't help.

    Any ideas?

BTW.....this forum is definitely for me because I'm a noob to all of this so bear that in mind

    Thanks

  2. Is the source 16:9? If so, change the source in tmpgenc to widescreen, and make sure you have the codec for the avi installed. Also check the tools section for Tmpgenc codecs needed to convert certain files. Or, you can just look at one of the guides for AVI > MPG.
