What codecs do I need to make a vcd

Hi Everyone, I am not new to making vcd copies, but have a problem in
knowing what codecs I need to encode.
Ok I had my harddrive reformatted and so when I went back into tmpgenc I couldnt see the picture I was trying to encode and also some avi files come up with a error screen saying not supported.
I have downloaded div 3.11 alpha and divx 5.02 bundle. What else do I need to make this work. I thought in the past I had used angel potion mpeg4 codec but you cant get that anymore.
Can anyone help, I hope this isnt too confusing.

if you install the nimo codec pack, you've got everything you will ever need

look under tools of this site => codecs
