I am puzzled and can't figure this out. I have the following divx file that I can open in VirtualDub and even play it - but am unable to frameserve to TMPEG... when I try to open the vbr file in TMPEG it gives me the "can not open or unsupported" error.
Nor can I open the divx file directly in TMPEG.

I have tried reinstalling codecs just because.. but same problem.
I am only trying to frameserve the video to TMPEG, I have already extracted the wave
    Any help appreciated:

    File Information supplied from VirtualDub:

    Thanks

  2. Try first to change the directshow codec reader priority settings in TMPGEnc under Option->Environmental settings->VFAPI plug-in and right click on the DirectShow Multimedia File Reader and increase the priority to 1 or 2 or to the top of plugin-list and try open the video.
Or try to convert the audio to wav before converting(If you have problems extracting the audio using Virtualdub try use Goldwave or AVI2WAV).
Or try to repair the AVI,DivX or the ASF.
Or try to use avidefreezer to fix your video source.

    Hi,
    Thanks for the reply.. but...
The DirectShow Multimedia File is already at the top of the priority list, and I have already extracted the audio with virtualdub and had no problem doing so.

    To clarify my situation:
I can open and play the video with no problem in virtualdub.
But TMPEG will not open the framserving file from virtualdub to convert the video..

    Some other notes..
If I open the divx file in windows media player it gives me a green screen, but the audio plays fine..
However if I open it in VLC media player it plays it fine both video and audio

    And I elaborate:
VirtualDub also opens and plays it correctly.
TMPEG will not accept the frameserved file from VirtualDub, nor will it accept the source divx file directly

    Any other suggestions?
