importing jpeg problem in premiere 6.5

I upgraded from windows 98 second edition to windows 2000. After reinstalling premiere 6.5 I cannot import jpegs. When I go to the import dialog box everything shows but jpeg. I tried show all files and it still doesn't show. I tried reinstalling premiere and got the same results. Any suggestions?

did you remember to install qt also ?

I installed quicktime from the quicktime website afterward. I got a return error of -1 when premiere was installing. Should I put quicktime on first before installing premiere?

try it that way -- shouldnt have to , but maybe .. its the qt engine that handles tiff and other image formats within premiere , including jpeg i believe ..

I uninstall and reinstall Premiere 6.5 all the time. It's the best one yet, but buggy as hell. Try that once. In addition to the QT solution.
