  1. I am currently making VCDs from VHS Cassettes, below is the process i am using and would welcome and feedback as to how i may improve it! i does take a long time to produce a single VCD. Also not sure if this way will yeild the best quality result.

I am running the VHS through my SOny PC9e, and capturing with Pinnacle Studio DV v7. then after whatever editing is needed, i am producing an AVI file through Studio DV.

then this AVI is converted to MPG by TMPGEnc. and finally using Easy CD creator a VCD is created and burnt.

An options of a better process? is there any way of getting better MPEG results directly through Studio DV???

    HELP!!!!!!

  2. The mpeg1 encoding done by PS7 is not very good, so you are taking the right approach by using tmpgenc. the only suggestion that I have would be that if you are not concerned in sharing your videoCD's then find out if your player will support a vcd with a higher bitrate (around 2400) this will give you better quality but it makes it a non standard vcd.
