    I just want to rip a dvd and convert it to an AVI (So that I can edit it in adobe premier). Is there a program that simply does this? I would assume a program like DVDtoAVI would do it, but it doesn't seem to.

    dvd2avi will do it, you just need the right codec..........huffyuv or picvideo are pretty good but be prepared for a huge file size
