  1. Hello everyone!

I am a videographer that is looking into the posibility of distributing my video demo on a CD. I've been considering VCD's, but I don't think they are viable because I need my disk to play in as many computers as possible, with a menu autostarting. Is VCD the best solution for this?

Is there any way to burn a VCD that will auto start in a computer with menus? I'd really like to go svcd, but I think that might be out of the question. What would you do if you were in my position? Thanks in advance!

SVCD will work in almost ZERO computers that don't have a DVD drive (because you need the MPEG-2 codec to play a SVCD and that usually ships with DVD drive software.

(yes, I know some people (like myself) have installed the codecs, but we represent probably less than 1/2 of 1% of users.

Your best bet would be to use AutoPlay Menu Studio 3.0 and make yourself a menu that way, using buttons or images (like a menu type dealy) to directly launch mpegs files.

That's about the best advice I can offer (I also am a videographer by trade, and this is what I do, and besides some idiot sticking it in a Macintosh and wondering why the cd won't autoplay, I haven't had any problems whatsoever.

  3. There is a little player included in winoncd 3.8. It is in IMAGES directory named VCD_PLAY.exe. With this player you can play your VCD like a Standalone player in your computer. Well, it's not shareware.....
