i'm intrested in buying a Canopus ADVC 100 and please i must know this before i buy it. i just want to know if i will be able to capture footage from my Sony Playstation 2 Comptuer Entertainment System(PS2) using only the ADVC 100. that is the only reason i need at capture device, so will the ADVC 100 be able to do this for me without any additional hardware. i'm sort of a novice to all this, this will be the first time i'm buying additional hardware for my computer and i don't want to make a decision i'll regret.
i have looked all over this site but its a bit to technical for me to understand if i should get it yor not.
will i need additional hardware to capture from my PS2 or is the ADVC 100 all i need
Thanks in advance![]()

The Canopus ADVC 100 is a Analog - digital / digital - analog converter.
You MUST have a firewire card to connect it to.
Then you can capture both to analog and digital video and ouput to analog or digital if you wish (tape).
ME myself has bought a ADVC 50 wich is much cheaper, comes with a 5 1/4inch docking bay but does not have the analog oupt
*Canopus products is the best!
Hope this helps. -
To use a ADVC-100 you are going to need a firewire port on your computer, a program that can capture digital video and cables to hook up the output of the console to the input of the ADVC-100.

I'd suggest an ATI All In Wonder card, but any cheap Pinnacle card would do for what little you want. You're not asking for much in terms of the capturing. You can easily edit with Premiere.
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored. -
You can pick a cheap capture/tv card up for $40, like the ATI PCI TV ve, goto bestbuy, they have a couple brands.

so all i need is an ATI video Capture Card and thats it.....nothing else. i still want very good quality so will the ATI be able to do that.
i can go up to $300.00 for what i need, so is there a better one or is the ATI fine
oh it has to be compatible with XP too
thanks againi am the true King Of The Iron Fist
