Howdy,
I'm brand new to capturing video and putting it onto a CDR or DVDR. I'm looking for advice on everthing from software to best proctices.
My Goal is simply to take some home movies from VHS tapes and put them onto CD/DVD so they can be stored and viewed later.
There are so many guides and How Tos on this site I startde looking through them and figured maybe someoen could direct me to the right ones or just give me general advice in this thread....
The softawre I have access to:
NeoStandard (came with capture card), and Roxio CD/DVD creator 6. Plus whatever downloadable stuff I need.
So, here's my questions. I'll be starting out writing to CDRWs because I don't have a DVD burner but once I get the hang of creating the movies and such, I'll br burning to DVDR later.
1) For a VCD, what is the best way to get high quality video at low file size? Capturing, converting, etc.
2) Do VCDs support Menus/Chapters? If so, what is the easiest way to create them?
3) It seems CDRWs are more globally compatible with older DVD players (at least mine). I have no experience with CDRWs so can I rewrite them unlimited times after burning a VCD or will anything get set to make it useless?
4) If I set up menus and such in a project and burn to VCD, do I need to change anything to burn it to a DVD?
5) Any other tips and tricks or general things to do or not do would also be great.
Thanks for helping out a newbie!!
