Here is my problem. Authoring a DVD to PAL and NTSC. Captured it all up PAL and all worked fine. The trouble i have, is when i put it through scanners converter, using the PAL source and converting it to NTSC. The NTSC output is grainy and liney. Doesn't matter what bitrate/GOP i use the video remains the same. could it be a problem with the scanner converter or something else

Firtst of all, what software are you using? Canopus Procoder is supposed to be the best software for NTSC<->PAL conversions (Allthough really slow, converting a NTSC DVD to PAL (100 mins) with "Mastering quality" settings took my old workhorse Duron 800 MHz incredibly 172 hours)

yeah sorry should've said, using a SD-500 from sonic, and converting it VIA a hardware box (MTSC EVO2)
