Big green bar across bottom of DivX encoded2DVD

I have had this error a couple of times encoding avi to DVD using CCE frameserved with avisynth authored with spruceup. I selected an average bitrate of about 6500 and used multipass encoding with three passes. I resized avi to 352x480. I extracted wav from avi and converted it to AC3 using
AC3 machine.
The resulting mpeg2 file played nicely on the comp but was garbage on the standalone. Now that I just bought 50 Ritek DVD-R it kinda hurts when I screw up. In the past I was using DVD-RW so I would just erase and reburn.

I did have one funny error in CCE. After the second pass, it stopped and gave an error that said could not close file. I clicked okay on the error and then cce proceeded to complete the third pass.

Any help would be apprecieated.
