Black and white(SVCD) with Pioneer DV-454

Hey.. I have a little problem I think (my English is very bad, but I hope you understand)

I have brought a new DVD player (Pioneer DV-454) and I burn my first SVCD (I know it is not support by the player) I try to burn and the player can play the disc, but it is black and white coloured and not in true colour how can I solve the problem? I will try VCD tomorrow but I would like to see SVCD with true colour and not in black and white. Plz help..
