If I encode a file many time (I know this way sound stupid but I have to do it), is there a quality loss(encode file A to file B, then encode file B to C, etc.) ,like when you record an tv episode with a VHS?

yeah it does loose quality. But use a lossless codec like Huff Yuv and u can convert as many times u want..
