Studio 8 freezes in the same place while rendering. It's worked fine up until now. I've done nothing different since I've had the program. Pinnacle support is worthless. Help please!

the following is just a suggestion, delete all files in the auxilary folder, you may need to recreate the project. if you are creating a dvd with menus then create your menus first and save them, then use them on your project. just as a habit I always create and do save as for menus and titles.

I had a similar thing happen to me in Studio 1.10 a year or so ago, I'm now using Studio 7. Anyway, it turned out that I had a short clip of a second or so on the timeline that I had deleted for the project folder but had left on the timeline. The clip was so short that I didn't notice it on the timeline between two longer clips. I tried encoding three or four times and it always froze at that point. I didn't figure out my problem until I went to Edit List view and found that clip. After I delete that clip from the Edit List, or Timeline, everything worked fine.

AlanE , not that I have answer, but what is your version that you use and what kind of capture did you do to get your source files. I personaly didn't have this problem but I saw couple of posts with this. One workaround was (if at that spot is trasintion) take out transition. Another one is to look if there is by any chance bad frame. Try (just for testing) to take out scenes around problematic place and rerender. Also I like that idea from mustang581, it might help too.

Why do you people waste your money on Pinnacle, haven't you been reading any of the posts with all the problems people have been having. I have yet to see 1 post with a problem with Vegas Video.

jsnkc, for some us PS8 actually works and find it very simple to use.
I have created several DVD projects (like my own wedding ) that includes menus & transitions with a very good final product.
I have not used Vegas Video but at this point Investing money in something else would be a waste of money for me. -
I would have loved to use Studio8 but sadly I could never get it to work. It didn't recognize my Aver capture card while all other programs I had did and if that wasn't bad enough there was always some function that was Broken or would lock up my computer. For editing and authoring I now use the simple program NeoDVD plus which works well and fast.

Vegas is so simple to learn, have any of you guys actually sat down with the program for an hour or 2, that's all you need to learn the program.

Thanks for everyone's responses. I haven't done anything with the program in a couple of weeks because it frustrates me; however, I plan to get on it next weekend and try some of your suggestions.

How many chapter points are you using? I've noticed a problem when I get to the ninth chapter point. When checking chapter points, from the ninth on they don't want to play correctly when selected from the menu. All up untill the ninth paly okay.
Any Ideas?Geronimo -
