  1. Ok, I'm not a complete newbie, but all the software I have tried to convert DVD to DivX is not working.

I am using windows 2000 pro

I have ripped the vob tracks to my hard drive no problem. When i try encoding to Divx using DVDX, I get audio/video out of sync. When I try using XPMEG, the whole program fails before i can do anything. When I try using FlaskMPEK .594, I have the audio going to fast and stopping before the video. When I use FlaskMPEG .60 preview, I get the same problem with the AVI plugin and the whole program crahses with the MOD AVI plugin. With Vidomi, the audio and video are synched, but the video is just terrible. With TMPGEnc, i have sync issues. With VirtualDub, I can only open vob at a time and I get sync problems!

Again, I'm using windows 2000 Pro, Service pack 3, and i keep getting all these problems! I'm using the DivX Pro 5.02 codec, most of the Nimo Codec Pack.

Please help! I want to back up my DVDs to DivX!!!

  2. In Windows Media Player, goto file properties, advanced, double click Divx decoder filter and move the decoder slider to null (all the way left).

Now does you video play in sync?

If not then don't downmix the audio to 44100, leave it at 48000.

  3. I used power dvd to play it back. i have played other divx movies before no problem, witth the bar slid over to the far right. Also, i have both maintained the frequency of 48 kHz and went down to 44.1 KHz and i still get the same problems.
